Branding for Real Estate

Step 1: Research
This phase involves doing market research, including researching other companies in the same industry. It’s usually best to look at the top three largest realty agencies in the industry, see what they’re offering, what they’re not offering, and what you can offer that clients want. Sometimes, however, there may be nothing you can offer that isn’t already being offered, and that’s when powerful branding comes in. That’s where you create a strong brand that differentiates itself and draws clients to it.

Step 2: Building Your Brand
Building your brand is asking yourself the hard questions: the “why” do we exist, the “who” is our brand for, and the “how” are we different? It involves understanding how we add value to the lives of our clients and how we make their lives better or easier. In this stage, we determine things like our purpose, mission, beliefs and values, culture, personality archetype, tone of voice, and messaging. We determine our unique value proposition, unique selling point, and where we can position ourselves in the market against competitors. In crafting your brand, you also discover your target audience.

Step 3: Target Audience
Finding your target audience is crucial, and no, your target audience isn’t “everyone.” By identifying your target clientele, your marketing efforts become more precise and impactful. You can create relevant messaging and offers, and knowing your target audience helps you understand where to find them. Finding your target audience allows you to tailor your realty solutions to the clientele that is interested in what you have to offer.

Step 4: Building Your Visual Identity
In the previous steps, we researched the market, studied competitors, determined our persona, tone of voice, and found our target audience. This information will guide the development of our logo, brand colors, brand typography, patterns, photography, and brand collateral. Everything we’ve done prior will influence the design of our brand and brand imagery. We will design the brand’s visual identity based on the research and work previously done to ensure it is effective.
