How I Designed a Real Estate Logo and Brand

Not too long ago, I was approached to design a conceptual brand identity for a Real Estate brand that a real estate agent wanted to propose to investors and other agents but wanted to “have something to show” in the proposal. He spoke to me about how the business was to focus on innovative and sustainable properties. It was future-forward, eco-friendly and focused on both commercial and residential properties.

The brand identity needed to reflect this. I did my own personal research on what the Real Estate market looked like at the time. I especially looked at how the identities of other Real Estate brands looked, especially ones who also focused on sustainability and how we could be different. Here are some surviving sketches that led to the design of the logo.

I realized the logo should have a balance between technological modernity and the usual classiness typically associated with real estate brands. So, I eventually decided that a “wordmark logo” would be best for the brand. So, I created custom letters to best achieve this.

Since the brand focused on sustainable eco-friendly properties, I also would have chosen a “natural” color palette for the brand.

A brown business card with the word aevo in white text leans against a textured, beige surface, showcasing a sleek design that embodies brand building on a smooth brown background.

In end, the client was happy and impressed with what he got, especially since not only had he never worked with a designer before but when attempting to create a free logo online using free online resources like A.I and templates, was unable to capture the essence of what he was striving for.
