Yard Fowl Rum Bar Kitchen
Yard Fowl is an up and coming rum bar kitchen set in the heart of St.George Barbados. On the island, the term “Yard Fowl” usually bears a negative connotation. A “Yard Fowl” is a chicken one would see running around the streets, it wasn’t raised, it has no owner, it’s just wild and free. Therefore to call someone that usually signifies a person as rebellious or free in spirit…which is what this brand is all about.
The owner wanted to signify a sense of rebellion and community for the patrons of her establishment. She described the brand as community based, fun seeking, rebellious, inclusive and a brand that seeks fun in others…an outlaw.

The logo is an abstract bird shaped mark set in a shield shaped emblem. The “bird” signifies the rebellion of the brand while the shield is associated with the sense of community and belonging. Inspiration for usage of a shield came from other brands that invoke that same sense of community, like football clubs and schools.
